For November, TipTop donated 1% of store sales to the Brookfield Elementary Playground fund.
The Second Chance Animal Shelter is
the 1% receiption for October 2009. Located in East Brookfield, each
year, Second Chance helps over 3,000 animals through adoption,
spay/neuter and other programs.
September's recipient was Many Hands Sustainability Center.
The recipient for July and August 2009 was Socks for
Siberia, a non profit organization to benefit children of orphanages in the region
of Khakassia, Siberia. Socks for Siberia was created by Wally and Michele
Connor of Brookfield after a chance visit to an orphanage in the town of Abakan.

1% of TipTop's sales in June 2009 went to NOFA,
Massachusetts Chapter. NOFA/Mass is a nonprofit organization that brings
together farmers, gardeners, landscapers and consumers. It works to educate
members and the general public about the benefits of local organic systems
based on complete cycles, natural materials, and minimal waste for the health
of individual beings, communities and the living planet.

Our April and May recipient was the Jim Dahler Scholarship Fund. The fund will make monetary awards to graduates of Tantasqua High School in memory of Jim Dahler, resident of Brookfield for over 40 years. Jim passed away in November 2008 after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's. He inspired many with his courage and positive attitude. 1% of TipTop's sales in February and March 2009 went to The Friends of the Brookfield Library. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful resource right around the corner. As government suffers through budget cuts, it is sure to impact the library and we want to do our small part to help them continue to provide services to all in the community. Our 1% recipient for January 2009 was the Worcester County Food Bank. Please visit http://www.foodbank.org/ to learn more about the help that this organization provides. In addition, we donate food on a regular basis to the local Brookfield Food Pantry.
Our November and December 2008 recipient was The Pennies for Peace project sponsored by Tantasqua Regional School, raising $12,000 to build a school in Pakistan or Afganistan. They are close to their goal thanks to students collections (high school goal of one dollar per student per week for ten weeks), change collection, bottle and can drive, sale of items at a dance, etc. TipTop is honored to have been a part of this ambitious project. Our 1% plus generous customer donations raised $927 for this cause.
A local family whose daughter is awaiting a lung transplant was the recipient of the October 1%. The money goes to help cover medical expenses.
The Brookfield Fund was the September recipient of 1% of store sales. This is a local town committee that assists residents who are having trouble paying their utility bills. They work with the electric and heating companies to set up a payment plan and provide emergency relief. Andrew's Helpful Hands, a Hudson MA non-profit that helps families who are going through a bone marrow transplant, was the recipient for June 2008.
The recipient for March and April 2008 was a local family who lost everything when their home burned down.

For January 2008, 1% of store sales were donated to the Catholic Worker House in Worcester, Massachusetts.
